Q. Why do we have these colors, fonts, backgrounds, etc?
A. Colors and fonts are chosen based on two primary considerations. They must be easily readable and not cause strain on the eyes. Backgrounds are chosen with the same considerations, but they are also held to a minimum to make pages load as quickly as possible and reduce wait time for visitors.
Q. What is the "Email Pickup"?
A. This is a free, web based service that allows a visitor to check almost any email address directly from our site. This can be a great advantage for a member who may be away from the office, but would still like to be able to check email. Remember, not all departments and districts provide web access to email. Try your own email and see if it works.
Q. Why does the email pickup program always say I have "No New Messages"?
A. If you check your email in more than one place you will get this message often. The mail pickup program only shows new messages. Once a message has been received somewhere it is marked as received on the mail server and will no longer show up. Only messages that have arrived since the last time you checked you email will be shown.
Q. Why don't we have some music playing or something when the page loads?
A. Two things stop us from putting music on the page. Wait time (it takes a while for music to load), and jail time (the music you want to hear is most likely copyrighted).

Q. Who can be a member of TAASRO?
A. School Resource Officers, School Administrators, or just about anybody else who is serious about making schools a safe place for kids. Contact any board member for more information.

Q. Why would I join? What benefits do members receive?
A. The major benefits to membership are the opportunity for training in school safety and the network of like minded individuals you will become a part of. The Annual School Safety Conference is the best collection of training and trainers that can be found. The ability to quickly call on others SRO's or school administrators when you have questions is invaluable.
Q. If I join, and get on the Board of Directors, how much will I get paid?
A. The bylaws of the organization specifically prohibit any member of the board from receiving benefits or compensation for their service. The board of TAASRO is very proud to hold themselves to a high standard in regard to this matter.
Q. Where is the conference?
A. The conference is held in the beautiful city of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The majority of the sessions meet at the Cobb Theater.
Q. Will we work the whole time, or do we get to play too?
A. We don't have it at the beach because we hate fun. We start early, work straight through, and make it a point to finish on time so you can relax with family and friends. We have even reserved the local water park for a whole evening so you can really let your hair down.
