James Englert

James is a Deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado. He became a School Resource Officer in 2006.

In his 27 years in law enforcement, he worked at the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years (retiring in 2024). James was the SRO at Arapahoe High School for 16 years. He is currently the SRO at a middle school in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.  He is also an instructor and serves on the board of NASRO and the “I Love U Guys” Foundation. James was the School Resource Officer on scene and responded to the shooting at Arapahoe High School on 12/2013.  James regularly gets asked to consult and speak on school safety.
